Last nights L1826 meeting was informative for all that attended. The principal officers and attorney went over the time line and events surrounding the previous VP. It was explained why things were handled the way they were and what changes have been made to prevent this from happening in the future. An audit committee has been put together and they will meet and go through everything. Once they have completed this task, they will report back to the principal officers. Eric is on the audit committee.
Nominations were accepted last night. Missi will serve another term as Secretary/Treasurer, Bill Simpson will serve another year as Field Rep, Eric Roberts will serve another 2 years as Assistant DVP for our District. There were three nominated for the VP position. Brian Alexander from FMFD, Henry Garcia from CFR, and James Haige from NFMFD. We will attempt to set up meetings so our membership can meet and hear what each has to say. Once this happens, we will let you know who your leadership is supporting and why. It is important that when voting occurs, you as members, exercise that right and vote.
Two motions were made last night to help two union brothers in need. One member is from Estero and the other from our district. It was passed, unanimously.
Thank you to Dustin Anderson and Oliver Jones for attending. Dustin got sworn in and Oliver will at April's meeting. Oliver got tied up and was running slightly behind.
Ryan, from CFR, spoke about MDA. Please don't forget that we need help on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday collecting money. We have the intersection at Ortiz and Colonial. We need every member to give some time that weekend.
